SBM Travels named second competition winner
Husband and wife team Mohamed Arif and Salma Mansuri have been operating SBM Travels, a small corporate travel business, for the past three years. Mansuri's recent entry into Welcome South Africa's social media competition, via our Facebook page, has won SBM Travels an iPad Mini, as well as the grand prize, a full-day Welcome training workshop.
"My husband and I are in the tourism business and he goes out to the airport to meet and greet our clients," she said. "The first thing he does when they land is offer them a local SIM card so that they can stay in touch with him. He jokes that he doesn't want to lose them all. After that he offers drinks and they get going. He asks if they have any questions and, in that way, he begins to share our warm and beloved country. Last month he took care of people from Guinea. They were so impressed with him that one passenger extended his stay after my husband took him on a tour of Soweto and Sandton. He fell in love with South Africa and the local food."
Salma Mansuri says that she loves making her clients happy: "That's the joy of working in the tourism industry; we love great feedback and happy customers."
SBM Travels deals with corporate cilents coming to South Africa. "We assist with transfers, accommodation, and local and domestic flights," says Mansuri, "and we try and offer that personal touch to everyone. We also offer a visa service for various embassies. The best part of our job is meeting new people and assisting our clients from all over the world."
Congratulations on your award, SBM Travels. We look forward to working with you as you continue to fly the Welcome South Africa flag.
