Did you know the the first International Women’s Day was held in 1911?
Since then, thousands of events have been held across the globe to celebrate International Women’s Day. The day represents a chance to celebrate the achievements of women while at the same time calling for equal rights.
This year’s theme is Make It Happen, and encourages effective action for advancing and recognising women.
International Women’s Day is celebrated on 8 March every year, and continuously raises issues around women’s rights and equality across the world.
