5 Tips for hosting UK guests

  • 23 December 2015

December is when people from the UK tend to escape their cold and gloomy winter for our summer shores. These helpful hints and tips will make sure that your UK guests enjoy South Africa at its best.

1. Sunblock

People from the UK are more sensitive to our sun’s harsh rays, so make sure to always have sunblock with a high SPF at the ready, even for the greyer days.

2. Wildlife

With a national emblem of a lion, it’s no surprise that guests from the UK love our wildlife. Find out about local game ranges in your area, or better yet - recommend that they go on a safari while here.

3. The Beach

Our white sandy beaches are a big draw to people from the UK, they can comfortably spend a whole day simply soaking up some rays and swimming.

4. Fine Dining

Many people from the UK make full use of how affordable South Africa is by experiencing fine dining while here. Wine tours and 5 star restaurants are a favourite for them.

5. Cuppa tea

Make sure you always have “normal” or Ceylon teabags on you. Rooibos is not the norm in the UK, and the British love a cup of tea – or “brew” as they often call it.
